Austinist Indieroke upstairs in The Green Room at The Mohawk is naturally our number one recommendation for a Friday night out on town but we cannot ignore the other quality shows in our fine city on the same evening. Beloved indie-rock outfit Wolf Parade hits the stage at La Zona Rosa nice and early in the evening so as to allow you to make the timely trek across downtown to The Mohawk for Indieroke after their set. The Canadian act is touring in support of their second full-length, At Mount Zoomer, released last month on Sub Pop Records.

Local label Chicken Ranch Records has a lot going on. the Yuppie Pricks have just released their new full-length, Balls (one look at the cover might explain the title choice), Mr. Lewis & the Funeral Five are about to hit the road for a short tour, and the label itself has been invited to showcase at Next Big Nashville in mid-September. They plan to feature The Clutters, We Were The States, Willie Heath Neal and Tiger! Tiger!

Tonight at Emo's, mc chris, the Yuppie Pricks and nerdcore rapper Terp2it (aka tireless local performer Chris Trew) will take the stage to rock your tighty whities. We recently snagged a copy of Terp2it's new album, The Freshest Dude, and sat down for a quick chat with him about his new release.
