SXSW Update: Wristbands Back On Sale At Waterloo

If you've slept on SXSW Music until now, you're in luck. Waterloo Records has just put a limited number of SXSW 2011 wristbands on sale for $165. There is a limit of one per person, and the bands are not transferable - they will be placed on your wrist at the time of purchase. Wristbands provide space available admission to all SXSW Venues from Tuesday through Saturday evening. In our experience, they won't get you into the very hottest tickets due to badgeholder priority, but will provide "hopping around" access to a vast majority of the showcases and allow you the ability to roam from hour to hour and not pay multiple covers. Given that nearly 2,000 bands are playing, it shouldn't be hard to have a great time. Also worth noting: there are no residency requirements, so out-of-towners here for SXSWi or film are welcome to make a purchase. more ›

Granted, entrance is based on capacity and badges still get in ahead of wristband holders, but if you are planning on hopping around a lot, then this will prevent you paying a $25 cover charge at Buffalo Billiards to hear one band, which is what we did one year. Totally worth it, right? Go here and get your refresh button good and limbered up before the starting gate drops at 10am! more ›
