Let's begin our weekend preview with a curious gig at the Central Presbyterian Church tonight: Linen Closet, Lost River/Old River, and John Vinyard are all performing, starting at 8pm. We're talking about quiet, expansive music played in an intimate setting, and all for the suggested donation of $5.

Weekend Music Preview: Freedom
Free week concludes with a big tasty slab o' weekend shows, so if you haven't been out on the town yet and are feeling guilty about it, now's your chance to get caught up with all the music you've been missing when you were at home on Tuesday, watching Nip/Tuck.
Weekend Music Preview: Killa Beez, Misprint, Blasphemous Metal
We have a lot of acts coming through town this week, maybe because it's that sweet spot right before Christmas turns everything into a winter wonderland and we break out The Beach Boys' Christmas Album. Yup, until then we have the Wu visiting Austin, a party for Misprint magazine, and a KVRX Holiday Show. Let's proceed.
Weekend Music Preview: Emo's Turns 19, KVRX Rocks Out, Let's Eat Pizza
This weekend is flush with celebrations, fundraisers, tributes, and tons and tons of music...just like every other weekend. We'll start things off by wishing happy birthday to Emo's, which turns 19. They'll be partying inside tonight with the bands Big Business, Rusted Shut, Woodgrain, and Baron Grod. At La Zona Rosa, psychedelia makes a return with both The Black Angels and Black Mountain vying for the title of this generation's drone ambassador.
Weekend Music Preview: Arts and Comics and Songs and Paradise
What a weekend to be a fan of the arts - we have the wonderful East Austin Studio Tour exhibiting in everything from professional studios to living rooms all over the eastside. It's also a great weekend to be a nerd, as the Wizard World Comic Con hits the Austin Convention Center. With all that going on, the music scene has appropriately ramped up to make sure your weekend has a soundtrack.
Weekend Music Preview!
On Friday, we've got an awesome variety of music blaring out across Austin. Perhaps the most notable road show will be at Emo's on Friday: Los Campesinos!, Girls, and the Smith Westerns.
Weekend Music Preview: Scott H. Biram, The Fuzz Club
One of Austin’s best country-folk hardasses is playing a set this Friday before embarking on a big tour of the U.S and Canada. Scott H. Biram made waves as a super-loud one-man band, but an injury put him out of commission for some time. He’s been making a comeback as of late, doing a session with KAOS radio, a few scattered sets, and now this show at Room 710 before hitting the road. Biram is supporting his May Bloodshot records release, Something’s Wrong/Lost Forever. He’ll be performing with Pure Luck, Woodsboss, and Supersonic Uke.
