The creators of "vegan comfort food" at Counter Cafe made us aware of this story featuring the rescue of 25 malnourished goats in Waco who were initially housed in cramped quarters with the carcasses of other goats strewn about. The Sunny Day Farms Animal Sanctuary out of La Coste has posted some photos of the goats online, and are keeping us up to date as to their progress.

The venerable 117-year-old Waco Tribune-Herald, freshly sold to a local insurance mogul in July, debuted a guest column by the publisher's poodle on Sunday.
Statesman to Begin Printing Waco Tribune-Herald
The Austin American-Statesman will begin printing and packaging the Waco Tribune-Herald as part of the Austin newspaper's growing printing business. Tribune-Herald publisher Belinda Gaudet announced today that the paper would stop printing and packaging at its Waco shop on July 13.
