Pink Floyd tribute bands are a cottage industry in the music world - in the increasingly unlikely event that the Floyd itself might reunite, a lot of musicians would be put out of work. But this performance is something special. As the event’s website says, “What classic rock music fan hasn’t looked up at the smokestacks at Seaholm Power Plant and envisioned a pink pig flying above?” Local promoter Electric Company is putting that vision into practice with a name borrowed (with permission) from a L.A. tribute act and an epic audiovisual extravaganza that purports to cover the Floyd’s entire career. (Including the Syd Barrett era?)
