Finally: A Good Use For The Internet
It’s about time this appeared out on the interweb. For years you’ve seen them on various VWs about town, with colorful frankencomments like “mimes are too loud” or “pee on w”. Now you can piece them together digitally, before you go to Waterloo Records for the real stickers to create your ultimate philosophical masterpiece of bumper-wit.
Austinist Giveaway: Tickets to See The Cloud Room, Tonight at Emo's
Congratulations to Coleen McKechnie, our winner of last week's The Sounds prize package giveaway!
We've another contest for today -- Brooklyn's dance rockers The Cloud Room, who were in stellar form at our SXSW afterparty, are back in town tonight for a show at Emo's, along with Asobi Seksu (they played our day party), AM Syndicate, and Experimental Aircraft. Doubtless that by now you've heard their ridiculously catchy single, "Hey Now Now." But, just in case, we'll give it to you again, along with another track off their 2005 self-titled release on Gigantic:
[mp3] The Cloud Room - "Hey Now Now"
[mp3] The Cloud Room - "Blackout"
Wanna go to the show tonight? Just send us an email by 3pm, and we'll select two random entrants to each win a pair of spots on the guestlist.

The Beast Shall Soon Return
No new releases to speak of this week. The only thing worth checking out is a Chimaira e-card which features three new tracks from Chimaira's upcoming self-titled album due August 9th on Roadrunner Records. The new tracks, "Nothing Remains," "Save Ourselves," and "Inside the Horror" showcase Chimaira's darker sound. Pre-orders made through Tower Records will be autographed by the band. Chimaira is currently on tour with The Sounds of the Underground and will be...
Whispers from the Underground
Ozzy’s days are numbered. For ten years, Ozzfest has been the premier showcase for the best that metal has to offer as well as the best place to see the new crop of metal bands waiting for their big break. Although other tours have tried, like Pledge of Allegiance and Tattoo the Earth, Ozzy has had a lockdown on the summer metal festival scene. This summer will be different because there’s a new tour...
