Austinist Theatre Review: The Play About The Baby
Ah, smart theatre. Clever people making good decisions – articulating concepts effectively and concisely without any messy spills or sloppy emotional baggage. For better, and (occasionally) for worse, Coda Project’s production of The Play About The Baby is most definitely theatre of the intelligent variety. Firstly, they’ve chosen an incredibly clever script. It’s no surprise that Baby’s creator, Edward Albee, is sometimes referred to as the “best living American playwright”. True or not, there’s...

Maybe a Baby, Definitely Free Tickets
Coda Theater Project is quietly becoming a presence on the Austin theatre scene -- producing a gaggle of shows, and, most recently, becoming the resident producing company at play! Theatre. Their latest, Edward Albee's Play About the Baby, is about Girl and Boy, and the baby they may or may not have. Typical Albee wordplay, and some seriously dark humor abound in what will undoubtedly live on as an American classic.

AusChron sheds Power and Light on the Theatre Scene
Elizabeth Cobbe, our esteemed colleague over at the Austin Chronicle, has put together a great article profiling the top ten up-and-comers in Austin's "rebel" theatre scene. As you may have noticed, Austinist has a weak spot for rebellious types, so we were excited to find the new punks on the block listed in one handy, helpful spot. (And to give full disclosure we were indeed pleased the company co-helmed by Austinist's own Jonathon Morgan...
