As our friend The M.O. reported, Ghostland Observatory are set to perform on Late Night with Conan O'Brien tomorrow evening. It will be their first nationally televised performance, and they're expected to play a tune from delete.delete.i.eat.meat.... GLO recently recorded a set for Austin City Limits, and we can expect that episode to air on KLRU sometime in December. Known for their energy-packed live sets, GLO are wrapping up a very exciting year that saw......

Austinite Brad Womack has been announced as the new Bachelor for ABC's tired reality show, The Bachelor. Womack is one of the owners of local establishments Chuggin' Monkey and Dizzy Rooster. Apparently Womack is ready to find a woman and settle down . . . never mind that none of the couples on that show have ever stayed together (Trista and Ryan don't count, since that was The Bachelorette). ABC is referring to him as......

Update: Our band listings are now sortable by band name and origin. SXSW unveiled the official lineup around midnight on Wednesday. You can find the roster in table format here -- we'll be adding more functionality to this list in the coming days. A quick glance down the initial list, which currently numbers just over 1,300, indicates that we were pretty close with our initial predictions. Short of a small handful of nice surprises,......

As you might recall, former Austinist co-editor Matthew "OK" Odam left our humble publication a few weeks ago in search of power, prestige, and proper press passes over at the Austin American-Statesman. Today, our favorite thirty-something renaissance man and aspiring screenwriter makes his fabulous debut on Austin360's frontpage as their newest blogger. Barely three days old, The M.O. already features some killer commentary on a variety of subjects, including new South Congress restaurant The Woodland,......

Almost two years ago I joined a motley crew of a couple dozen folks looking to enhance the entertainment landscape of Austin and help explode Austinist onto the scene via the wonders of the internets. Since that time, many of the names and faces have changed, but the desire to provide fun, entertaining and informative content to Austinites (and former Austinites) has remained the same. Therefore, it is with a mixture of sadness and excitement......

We've already told you about The Arm's CD release show on Friday, but we think it deserves another mention: they'll be playing with Single Frame, Faceless Werewolves and Lomita over at Emo's. We've also just found out that Super!Alright! has been tapped to provide visuals, which kinda makes sense considering they've already done a bunch of videos for Single Frame. The Arm's promised to bring some "special guests" onstage throughout their set, as well as......
