Like we mentioned to you, The Kills are on tour celebrating their tenth year as a band. Chad Wadsworth caught the band along with openers JEFF the Brotherhood during their performance at Stubb's.

The Kills Tenth Anniversary Tour [Show Preview]
For a band celebrating a decade of existence, The Kills take a no-frills approach. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have recorded four albums together over the last ten years, evolving their minimalist lo-fi rock sound and evading the norm throughout. From their first show at Bar 12 in London in February of 2002 to their current tour kick off last Friday in Chicago, Mosshart and Hince have impressed audiences with their intensity.

The Kills & Cold Cave at La Zona Rosa [Show Review]
If there was one thing that was evident during The Kills' performance at La Zona Rosa last night, it was that Alison Mosshart and James Hince are an entertaining bunch. While their show was nothing spectacular or mind blowing, Mosshart and Hince handled themselves like professionals. They balanced the right amount of posturing and energy to propel their brand of drum machine charged, blues inspired rock in a set that placed several cuts from their recently released Blood Pressures amidst many favorites from their back catalog.

Be Movers, Be Shakers With The Kills Tonight
The Kills play rock with the sustained tension of a chain smoker in the long moment just after a drag and before exhalation. This duo of Alison “VV” Mosshart and Jamie “Hotel” Hince strip British indie down to its indispensables—those being his and hers guitars, a drum machine (get over it), and rebellious disaffection involving the occasional Dostoyevsky reference.

Austin, lace up your walking shoes and prepare thyself for a quadruple blast of high-caliber musical entertainment across the downtown area this Saturday. Yes, it appears that the stars will align this weekend, giving us a ludicrous amount of options from which to choose in just one night. It's like the summer solstice of live music, dontcha know. We now pass the difficulty of choice to you, gentle readers: we are merely the conduit for such information.
SXSW 2008 News & Rumor Updates
SXSW has announced via official mailing that there are a few bands confirmed for the festival aside from those we've mentioned already: R.E.M., My Morning Jacket, Daniel Lanois, The Black Keys, The Kills, My Brightest Diamond, Pato Banton, Vampire Weekend, Joe Lean + The Jing Jang Jong, Jens Lekman, Sia, $olal, Tech N9ne, and Mala Rodriguez have received the official nod. A couple of those names will look familiar to those of you following our ongoing coverage, but the big names are news to us as well.
Austinist SXSW Rumor Update
White Shoes & the Couples Company are rumored to be coming in from Indonesia (via) for SXSW 2008. The band, formed in 2002, is inspired by Indonesian films of the '70s and retro disco beats, as well as classic '30s jazz. They recently signed to Minty Fresh, and we predict 2008 as their break-out year, provided they roll into town with a couple of good shows booked.
Austinist Spring Road Trip: Coachella, Day One
Ladies and gentlemen, fair folk of Austin: Coachella is awesome. The festival gates opened at 11, but we decided to start the day off with a lazy swim at the resort pool and thus didn't arrive until 3. The traffic and lines were horrendous, rendered even worse by the midday sun, but these were to be expected so we shrugged them off. Snow Patrol delivered a strong set at the main stage featuring songs off...
