The Dresden Dolls delight in avoiding cliches. Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione want nothing more than to get you thinking - about the all encompassing lyrics, Brian's drum patterns, how hard Amanda bangs on the keyboard, whatever it takes for your brain to start spinning. Sunday night's closing stop on their 10th Bandiversary tour found no exception to this, as the duo thrust their all into every minute of the three hour set.

SXSW Music Diary: Day 1, or How I Lost My SXSVirginity

But the details have all bled together in a beautiful disaster of a memory, a passionate four-night stand that left us spent yet somehow wanting more. It was our first SXSW, the twentieth for Austin, and hopefully the beginning a fantastic March tradition of depraved boozing and beats. It all started Wednesday when we got stuck in...
NIN Tonight at Stubb's
Nine Inch Nails, on tour in support of their new (fantastic) album, With Teeth, will be playing tonight at Stubb's. Their opening band is The Dresden Dolls, about whom we've known for a while, thus making us cool. But cool is not the same as concert tickets, a fact about which we are very sad. The Dresden Dolls will be supporting NIN when they play their sold-out Austin show later this May. Porcupine Tree - Dead Wing (Lava/Atlantic) Fans of Opeth and Anathema should already...
