It's a testament of sorts to the enduring popularity of old-school street punk that the spectacle of GWAR barreling across the Fun Fest grounds in a golf cart (piloted by Transmission's James Moody, no less) did not detract from the opening of The Casualties' set. It’s refreshing and a bit of a comfort when you discover that one of the bands whose music helped drive you in those early, formative, and somewhat rowdy years - a band that you’ve all but forgotten about - is still touring, still recording and still living the life you abandoned for that nine-to-fiver.
