On the final day of Fx3, weary hipsters wandered to the Orange Stage to congregate in the vast dusty pit and space out to the experimental sounds of Deakin, a relatively new project featuring Josh Dibb (one-fourth of Animal Collective) on synthesizer, guitar and vocals.

Fun Fun Fun Fest Artist Profile: The Bronx
Also now known as Mariachi El Bronx, punk rock group The Bronx is full of contradictions. As of 2009, the band performs both their signature hardcore punk songs as well as traditional Western Mexico mariachi-inspired tunes at live shows - the genre-bending combination starts to make more sense upon learning that guitarist Joby J. Ford cites Black Flag and Los Lobos as their two biggest influences. According to Ford, even though The Bronx started out with hardcore punk, all the members loved Mariachi music and decided they had to learn the necessary instruments (think lots of strings and brass!) to make a record off the beaten punk path.
