Get Your Tuba Groove On

In 1974 Harvey Phillips was looking for a way to honor his teacher, William Bell, who was born on Christmas day in 1902. Mr. Bell played with Sousa and Toscanini, as well as taught at the esteemed Juilliard. He sent letters to 400 tuba players around the country and asked if they would like to be part of a Christmas concert; over three hundred said "yes." Now there are Tuba Christmas concerts every year all over the country and around the world, including next Monday at the Texas State Capitol. more ›
