Haddington's is already well-known as a spot for artisan drinks thanks to bartender extraordinaire Bill Norris, but they've decided to have some fun this summer by honoring some of the world's best cocktail books. In June, the bar will feature drinks from The Savoy Cocktail Book. The book focuses on Prohibition-era drinks, and include the following spirited combinations:
Drinks: Haddington's Goes Vintage, TenOak Teaches Bourbon, + New Craft Gin
Booze: Opal's Penn Field Hosts American Whiskey Festival Thursday
When we last attended a whisky event at Opal Divine's, it was a gluttonous and action-packed evening. The sold-out Scotch Whisky festival had Opal's jammed to the rafters, as patrons pondered which age of Balvenie or Glenlivet to sample with their tickets. The high octane spirits had everyone jostling and angling for position, as the event wasn't for lightweights - it was neat whisky, take it or leave it, with nary a dump bucket on hand (why waste the good stuff?)

Austin, We're Getting A SPEC's
Remember when the new Whole Foods opened up and everyone rushed to go see it? Remember those first couple months when no one bought anything and just wandered around aimlessly from aisle to aisle? Well, replace all that lame, non-alcoholic organic food with mother nature's sweet nectar of life: alcohol. Now, multiply that by three. The Statesman recently reported that we will receive not one, but three Spec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods over the...
