Though we hate to admit it, for some of us here at Austinist the heyday of disco naps and all-night benders is a decade-old, itsy little speck in the rearview mirror of life. Something happens during one's mid-30's -- the vigor and stamina required for gettin' your groove on in dark, smoky clubs 'til the wee hours of the morning mysteriously...vanishes. It is tragic. Anyway, this is our way of saying that you can take a huge oldster grain of salt with this review of Andy Bell's DJ gig in Austin last weekend.

FRIDAY

Last years ACL Fest brought a diverse mix of bands to the Capitol City. One of which is the funkiest group of Venezuelans on the planet. Los Amigos Invisibles formed in 1991, becoming one of the only dance bands that call Venezuela home. Los Amigos Invisibles are supporting their latest releases Venezuelan Zinga Son Vol.1 and Chill out Venezuela vol.1. Chill out is the first electronic music compilation entirely produced by Venezuelans. They will be performing tonight at Sky Lounge at 10 p.m. Mix Master Mike of Beastie Boys fame will also be on hand to make sure the crowd stays hype for the crazy dance party that is sure to ensue.
