The first-ever mobile version of the festival schedule, which always seems destined for ruin in its paper form, was released on Tuesday. And with the festival growing to three days plus the addition of FFF Nites, the timing couldn't have been better. The app features the standard fare, scrollable version of the schedule, organizable by time or stage and the crucial custom schedule that makes festival apps so great (especially for the easily distracted and easily intoxicated).
In addition, the app features a pretty extensive list of taco spots in Austin, a transportation guide to get you to said tacos, and a photo feature that allows you to share pictures of the aforementioned using Instagram (or anything FFF related). It's smart, it's easy but mostly it's the best tool you've got for making this the smoothest fest yet. It's available for download from the iTunes store, and you can expect more surprises from the hardworking festival before November.

Weak Teams on Schedule Have Texas Fans Over a Barrel
A little after 8 o'clock on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns will be cruising to a victory over outmatched University of Louisiana-Monroe. Colt McCoy and most of UT's other stars will be resting on the sidelines while subs and first-year players mop up in what is little more than an organized scrimmage. And as you consider leaving early to get a jump on the crowd at Rio Rita, you'll ask yourself, "I paid $65 for this?".
Texas Basketball Announces 2009-10 Schedule
With its announcement of the complete schedule for the upcoming season, the Texas men's basketball team left little to be desired, as the calendar includes dates with three of 2009's four national semifinalists.
SXSW Official Schedule Announced: Here's Some Bullet Points
The full schedule is pretty dense, so we've tried to filter it down just a bit for the casual browser. No worries, we'll be posting all the free parties too - including links to maps and RSVP forms soon. For all the (official) info, visit sxsw.com/music.
UT Men Finalize Hoops Schedule
The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a December 4th home matchup against UCLA, which was ranked No. 2 nationally last season when they were defeated by the Longhorns at Pauley Pavilion. The game finalizes a home-and-home between the teams as part of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood series.
ACL 2008 Schedule Released This Morning
This morning, Austin City Limits Festival organizers released the schedule for 2008. The lineup, featuring acts like Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Spiritualized, Foo Fighters, Beck and Manu Chao, is notable this year thanks to its extremely strong middle section (the "heat of the day" section, as we like to call it) and offers acts like MGMT, Patty Griffin, Hot Chip and Duffy, as well as two quip-worthy local acts, Okkervil River and White Denim.
