This Sunday marks the return of San Antonio poet/spoken-word artist and label impresario Bill Shute and his Kendra Steiner Editions imprint to the Salvage Vanguard Theater. Austin has long been a hotbed of experimental music and artistic activity, though it rarely has gotten the press it deserved. That has, of course, changed somewhat with the greater visibility afforded to collectives like Church of the Friendly Ghost and it seems like every week something is bubbling up from the underground.
