In a welcome twist on the trendy concept of a pairing dinner, Paggi House chef Shane Stark is doing things a little more informally this fall: he's wheeling a big grill onto the Paggi House patio, cooking grillside while chatting with diners, and letting everyone hang out and mingle outside. How Austin is that? In keeping with the informality of the evening, prices for the themed dinners are also modest for fine dining - tomorrow's event is $25, while the remaining two dinners are $35 despite a menu full of seafood. All dinners commence at 6:30pm and run until around 9.

Paggi House, a which new Austinist staffer Michael clued us into just weeks ago, is hosting ATX Fest this weekend. The inaugural "music lover's music festival" brings together nineteen bands on two stages for two days of continuous music, ranging from jazz and rock to funk and blues, with the occasional jam band thrown in for good measure. more ›

So, apparently there is a huge football game tonight. In fact, it is the first time since 1970 that the Longhorns will be playing for a National Championship. In other words, so long ago that about 65% of the UT faithful have no recollection of that specific event. With that said, expect one crazy mutha-scratchin party if the Horns win tonight.
