Pachanga Fest shook things up on the East side this past weekend. The festival expanded to two days this year, and featured Latino bands from Chile, Brazil, Puerto Rico, New York, L.A., and Texas.

Pachanga Latino Music Festival This Weekend
In its 5th year, the Pachanga festival has become a magnet for some of the most talented musicians in the Latin-American community covering rock, alternative, tejano, mariachi, cumbia, salsa, electronic, funk, hip-hop and indie rock. A portion of the proceeds going to the Futurofund, a philanthropic grant-making association that works with local Hispanic organizations.
Last Reminder: Pachanga Tomorrow and Peligrosa Tonight!
Tomorrow is the Pachanga Festival! Without belaboring the point that this is an opportunity for you (and the family!) to see a music festival that isn't clouded by hype, dust storms, crowds and/or draconian rules for entry, we would like to express the point that Pachanga will feature talented local and international artists, good food, and affordable tickets.
Pachanga Reminder / Win Tickets
While the rest of Austin ruffles their feathers over the glorious announcement that a bunch of comfortable radio-ready careerists are playing in a big field of crap/mud this September, keep in mind that a far less oversold, predictable and genre-bending festival is taking place this Saturday.
Visa Issues Keep Celso Piña Out of Pachanga
You can't put on a festival without having lots of things go haywire. Chaos in Tejas recently announced a few cancellations, and this Saturday's Pachanga festival has also been dealt with a programming blow - performer Celso Piña has had to cancel his appearance due to issues with he and his band obtaining working visas. A cumbia musician from Mexico, Piña has been releasing records under his name since the mid-nineties.
Pachanga Announces Niños Rock Pachanga [Kids Festival Preview]

Free to kids under twelve with their paying parents, the tyke-centric area will feature activities including clay tamale crafting, mask making, and a cupcake walk. Photobooth queen Annie Ray will do her thing inside, and you'll also find workshops and hear performances by Conjunto Romo and Ozokidz, "the children's themed project of three-time Grammy winning artist Ozomatli."
Initial Pachanga Festival Lineup Released, More to Come
Ozomatli will headline the fest, and their spin-off children's group Ozokidz will be featured on the ninos stage. Adrian Quesada's newest project, The Echocentrics, will also perform, along with Chingo Bling “The Versace Mariachi," Chico Mann and Los Skarnales.
