This evening is the kickoff event for Opal Divine’s “Drink Pink” Campaign benefiting the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. Fans of the single malt goodness should call 512-707-0237 or stop by Opal Divine's Penn Field in person to reserve a spot for a Glenlivet Speyside Scotch Whisky class on Wednesday evening. Instructor Mark Cronin from Glenlivet will taste attendees through a number of different Scotches and explain their differences, and a buffet of hearty smoked salmon, cheeses, breads, and meats will also be included. Unfortunately, there's no Haggis on the buffet, and Sean Connery does not plan to attend, but you can't have everything. Tickets are $25, advance booking is recommended, and the event begins at 7pm.
Green Drinks gets computer savvy this month with a focus on greening computer usage and IT. Rebecca Thorburn, a member of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, will be on hand to discuss the non-profit organization's dedication to promoting climate conservation through the widespread deployment of energy efficient hardware and power management software.
This month's Green Drinks is kicking the New Year off with some eat-right type resolutions.
