We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Mohawk with Car Stereo (Wars) and a celebratory one year anniversary edition of Indieroke. Fun was had by all, and contributing photographer Nash Cook was there to document.

There's never any shortage of options for fun stuff to do on New Year's Eve, but your realm of possibilities just opened up a little wider. Austin's own up-and-coming fun and bluesy Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears will be ringing in 2009 with some soul at Stubb's inside Wednesday night. You can come enjoy the buffet and a champagne toast, and if you get there early enough, you can even catch San Antonio rock and roll outfit Hacienda.

Austin Police Department is bringing back its "no refusal" policy on New Year's Eve, which requires that all DWI suspects who refuse a breathalyzer test be taken to Travis County Jail to have their blood drawn.
