The blog Acolyte first caught our attention with a couple of pretty fine black and white videos from Liturgy's Red 7 show in July. Though they've been active as far back as October of 2010, the blog looks to have jumped from the ranks of DJ Screw and Salem appreciation into more active duty with an interview with Joe Buck out of Nashville, the first of a series of investigations into noise and fringe music (mostly) specific to Texas.

Fun Fun Fun Fest Preview: Cold Cave
While decidedly over the top, Wes Eisold's theatrical brand of nihilism may well be the greatest thing to happen to this type of music since Robert Smith teased up his hair.
A Holiday Blast: Winter Wonderland of Noise at the Parish Room
Chestnuts are roasting on an open fire, but at the Parish Room’s Winter Wonderland of Noise, we get to be the chestnuts, on a fire made out of sound. Avant-garde noise artists Leila Bela and Douglas Ferguson will break open the boundaries of frequency and reveal that the holiday spirit can be haunting, terrifying, and cheerful by turns. Turkish Delights, served at the show alongside Christmas candy, assure a multisensory experience that promises to expand what your eardrums can take.
Hots On: Wild Style
A month or so ago I was hanging out with an old friend I hadn’t seen in awhile.
