No one has had their fame stripped away from them in such short order as UT quarterback, Colt McCoy. The red-shirt freshman out of Tuscola, Texas had the enormously unfortunate job of replacing the most famous (and entertaining) Texas football athlete of the modern era--Vince Young. As that January 4th hangover started to wear off, Texas fans were uncertain as to who would replace VY during the preseason, McCoy or true freshman Jevan Snead....

The annual University of Texas tradition known as the Orange-White Scrimmage takes place this Saturday afternoon. The Texas Football Spring Jamboree is set to begin at 4 pm with the Orange-White scrimmage kicking off at 6 pm. If you can't wait for the football season to come, or just want to have a great afternoon taking in some free fun, then head on down to DKR this Saturday afternoon. Admission to both events is free.
A couple of years ago, some people were quietly rapping Vince Young for not having the intelligence to play the position in football that is most demanding on a player's smarts. All of those concerns seemingly went out the window as Vince took the Horns to an undefeated season and National Championship last year. Well, the doubters are back. Apparently (or allegedly) Vince scored a miserable 6 (out of 50) on the Wonderlic test...
So, apparently there is a huge football game tonight. In fact, it is the first time since 1970 that the Longhorns will be playing for a National Championship. In other words, so long ago that about 65% of the UT faithful have no recollection of that specific event. With that said, expect one crazy mutha-scratchin party if the Horns win tonight. The Longhorns had said throughout the postseason that they do not dog-pile unless they win it all. Well, all of that pent up emotion came spilling out Sunday afternoon after J. Brent Cox struck out the final batter of the College World Series, and the Horns mobbed one another in a massive pile of bodies near the pitcher’s mound.
