Cheers to solid shows at the Parish! An ample bar stretches across the length of the East wall providing easily accessible drink-receipt stations, making transactions painless, even if you're as drunk as Lucinda Williams at jury duty. Moreover, the sound is spot-on and the woman behind the board is a complete mensch. If you're lucky enough to nail down a good lineup, you're sittin' pretty ATX-style.

We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Mohawk with Car Stereo (Wars) and a celebratory one year anniversary edition of Indieroke. Fun was had by all, and contributing photographer Nash Cook was there to document.

Austinist presents a very special New Year’s Eve party tonight at The Mohawk.

Ice Cube turned in a resounding set at The Mohawk last night, kicking things off with the thunderous "Natural Born Killaz" and powering through much, much more including "Do Ya Thang," "Check Yo Self," and "Go To Church." Cube and crew constantly engaged the rapt audience with banter and chant-alongs, and also took a moment midway through the show to remind naysayers that he's still a force to be reckoned with. Austinist contributing photographer Nash Cook captured the icon in action.

Austinist Indieroke had another successful outing last Friday on the patio at The Mohawk. From The Cranberries to The National, and from Led Zeppelin to Iron Maiden, we heard it all. As always, stellar renditions of The Cure and Journey classics were in the mix as well. Good times!
