After some hullabaloo last summer regarding permits, noise, and all sort of innuendo, the U.S. Art Authority at 29th and Fruth closed its doors—only to later reopen and continue showcasing art and live music. Huh. Who'da thunk it?

Free Week at the Mohawk is featuring both the outside and inside stages will be packed with an army of bands. From psychedelic rock to turntabalism, the Mohawk should have you covered, and less money at the door means more for booze!
Mary Pearson and Rob Barber formed High Places in 2006. The Brooklyn-based duo employs a multitude of beats in varying rhythms along with ample reverb and plentiful studio trickery to create soundscapes that chirp, throb, squeak, and echo.
Advertised with tongue-in-cheek flair as a “frotean festival! of the fantastique” and “an evening most thrilling!”, the Victorian Pageant at the Mohawk on the 6th was indeed a unique experience, and a sprightly, fun show even when it didn’t exactly keep with the theme of corsets and humours.
