Minus the Bear's growing presence in indie music circles has made them hard to avoid these days. Ever since their debut, Highly Refined Pirates, the group, formed of members from outfits like Sharks Keep Moving and Botch, has had the ear of music critics and fans of synth-heavy, math-rocky, angular guitar-noodly jams that remain as much pop confections as undercover indie gems.
