After an automobile accident Sunday morning in San Antonio, paramedics placed a yellow tarp over the body of Texas State student and Austinite Erica N. Smith, thinking her dead. Last week, some guy riding a personal watercraft on Lake Travis stumbled onto the remains of a prehistoric skeleton embedded in the clay soil. Archaeologists excavated the remains, along with arrowheads ("darl points") and other makeshift tools found nearby, estimating the man or woman to have lived anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 years ago. Last Friday we told you about an Austin police officer shooting and killing a man suspected of having drugs. Here is an update to that story.
