Los Campesinos! at The Parish [Show Review]

Los Campesinos! is on their fourth album in four years. For a band whose spin on rickety, serrated twee-pop came off like a revisionist plot from the very beginning, they’re settling into their unglamorous veteran role with a lot of grace. more ›

I Think His Writing is Well Beautiful: An Interview with Neil of Los Campesinos

Los Campesinos! Not in any way a Spanish or Mexican-based band, the group’s deceptive title serves merely to signify a group of musical companions, and companions they are. This quirky seven-piece band originally comes from Wales, employing pop melodies and heartfelt words of heartbreak and wisdom. In the midst of their huge North American tour (including two nights at the Parish, lucky us!) guitarist Neil Turner was kind enough to give us a few minutes of phone time to discuss the recent Megaupload debacle, among other things, and all in a lovely Welsh accent, of course. more ›

Los Campesinos! with Parenthetical Girls [Double Residency Show Preview]

Over the last four years, the men and women of Los Campesinos! have established themselves as one of the UK's most prolific and quality bands, thanks in no small part to their continued artistic growth and willingness to flesh out their sound. Music: Los Campesinos! and Titus Andronicus Get Loud At The Parish Room Tonight

The Welsh band Los Campesinos! are young. Not Hanson young or anything, but they were playing between classes in 2006 at Cardiff University, so precocious, to be sure. This pasty and feisty collective of seven men and women wowed crowds at the Filter party and the Arts + Crafts showcase at last year's South By Southwest, and now return just under a year later to promote their recently released LP We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. more ›

Austinist Presents: Titus Andronicus, Los Campesinos! [@ the Parish Room Friday Night]

We’ve been crushing on Los Campesinos! since they appeared in 2006, but 2008 was definitely their year to shine. They managed to squeeze out two amazing albums, Hold on Now, Youngster…; and We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. We’re already dusting off our dancing boots in preparation for Los Campesinos! coming to town January 30. And we’re oh so proud to be presenting this performance along with 101X. It’s all going down at the Parish, where New Jersey natives Titus Andronicus will join in as support. more ›
