The fun and lively improv show Plays Well With Others is being held over at the Zach Scott Theater and if you need to have your funny bone tickled, you should go. The show is directed by Owen Egerton and written by Les McGehee. We're looking forward to seeing the freshly installed art that's going to be unveiled at the Blanton's B scene tomorrow. Since there aren't enough museums to fill our ever-voracious appetite for new art in Austin, we've been awaiting this opening with great anticipation. To go with those visuals, there's going to be the auditory pleasure of Austin's awesome instrumental space-dance quartet The Octopus Project, a performance of some of playwright Suzan-Lori Parks' 365 Plays/365......

In 2002, Suzan-Lori Parks, one of America's most exciting modern playwrights, wrote a new play every single day. Sometimes a famous person would die, so she'd write a little play about them; then our country went to war, and Parks wrote some plays about that. "[It was] kind of like walking a pilgrimage on my knees," says Parks. Now those plays are being performed all over the country, with Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Denver,......

LAist has so much fun this week! They go to E3, where they overhear the timeless remark "Man, this is where nerdy girls get laid." Is that a promise? They also give us this week's best CDs and make us realize that LA is the best place to use Zillow. Ah, Houstonist. They're biking to work, that is, if they can figure out how to get there. That's right, Mapquest says "Houston had the......

Our favorite local posts for the week: Wednesday was Livestrong Day. UrbanGrounds takes on people who illegally use handicapped parking placards. Scott at Grits for Breakfast enjoyed hearing Suzan Lori Parks. Reading his post reminds us to move The Topdog Diaries to the top of our Netflix list. In the Pink Texas posts on the idea that women should consider themselves "pre-pregnant." Richard Lawrence Cohen is in Oia watching the sunset. Random Favorite Blog......

Meet Suzan-Lori Parks, winner of the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in Theatre for the fantastic Topdog/Underdog. She’s the author of numerous other plays that are invariably full of dazzling dialogue and original music, and obsessed with history. Parks spent part of her childhood in West Texas, where she set her debut novel, Getting Mother’s Body (2003) and where, she swears, she really enjoys visiting in summer. She’ll be at the Paramount tonight at 7:30 pm, to......

Match each letter with its corresponding description after the jump to win a large bouquet of flowers and a handmade card. (Not really, but you will be able to decipher our Austinist pick of the week!) Mom. You didn’t judge me when I performed one man shows about body image and my burgeoning......
