On Authority

We always bitch about the small things. Probably because real and heavy oppression either leaves you dead or makes you flee, or imprisons you, or makes you reach for the martini shaker right after breakfast as you shrug and sheepishly tell your children, “Hey, it’s five o’clock somewhere.” more ›

If you were a hot dog, wouldja eat yourself?

You would if you were a Dogtown hot dog. The one and only Dogtown Hot Dog Stand is located in the parking lot at 4th and Congress (next to Light Bar) and serves up delicious meaty treats. The chili meat is marinated for 16-24 hours in Guinness - yes, the BEER. Is that not a fantastic idea? We think it is. The buns are baked fresh daily at a local bakery, and the dogs are made from 100% beef or turkey with all natural casings. The french fries (ohhhh french fries…) are fresh cut, cooked in soybean oil, and dusted with a homemade spice blend. Friendly owner John Ibanez recently set up shop in our fair city and thinks Austin is a great place to be (so true!). He’s hoping to open a store on South Congress across from St. Edward’s in June. So drop by Dogtown on your lunchbreak, or when you're drunk on 4th street. Hey, we know it happens. more ›
