Kaki King originally made her name with a series of virtuoso solo guitar performances featuring her iconoclastic fingerstylings. But the diminutive Ms. King has since evolved into a singer/songwriter with a full band sound, as evidenced by an afternoon set on the orange stage this Sunday at Fun Fun Fun Fest. Opening with “Falling Day,” the single from her most recent album Junior, King and her band laid out their M.O.: a fingerpicking style reminiscent of both Leo Kottke and Ani DiFranco surrounded by synthesizers and electronics triggered by Dan Brantigan’s EVI, anchored by drummer Jordan Perlson and topped by King’s wan singing.
