Malone’s been planning on releasing a new album for a while now and has apparently finished it, so keep a look out. He performs at dive bars, house shows and even Stubb’s inside. He’ll be playing at the latter Saturday night alongside The Eastern Sea with their haunting, melodic indie rock with the occasional sax and trombone and Jude/Ross’ melodic, Jonathan Richman-style pop.

Rarely do bands actually have release shows on the day their album is released, which is usually a Tuesday and isn’t always conducive to partying and general merrymaking. In many ways, Tuesday is the worst day of the week. Friday seems too far and you don’t have the Monday blues as an excuse for slacking at work. Perhaps this is why the people who pick days picked Tuesday to be album release day, to give everyone a reason to wait for this not-so-pleasant day. And maybe, this is why Austin’s Jude/Ross decided to hold their album release at the Mohawk on this day.

A trio of Austin acts will be ruling the proverbial roost at Stubb's tonight. The indoor show will start off with Jude Ross, followed by Leatherbag, and finally Dana Falconberry. The evening promises a solid set for a low low sticker price -- especially for those who have been finding themselves seduced by the backward looking AM gold stylings of other local acts like Brothers and Sisters.
