Catch local folk darling Erin Ivey tonight at the Parish Room. The show is her last local gig for a few months, so it's time to get while the getting's good. Ivey, perhaps best known as the singing and dancing lass in the Reid's Cleaners commercial airing locally, is flying north for the summer. The Finest Kind will be performing backup for Ivey.

UPDATE: Austin 360 reports that Graham has been upgraded to "good" condition. Texas Music Matters is reporting that popular Austin-based singer/songwriter Jon Dee Graham is hospitalized at Brackenridge's trauma unit after a car accident early Saturday morning. The singer was returning from Dallas when he fell asleep at the wheel and collided with an embankment on I-35. Andy Uhler speaks with Graham's wife.

Austin-based singer and guitarist Jon Dee Graham has a gravel-filled voice that calls to mind Tom Waits. Graham's songwriting is full of salt-of-the-earth wisdom, and his style is comfortingly familiar without being overdone or unoriginal. That said, Graham's style is too high-energy to get him lumped into the singer-songwriter category.
