Earlier this month, ACL and Austinist gave a lucky reader the chance to win tickets and watch Jamie Lidell's set on stage. Today, we were thrilled to meet Matt, a huge fan, and he in turn was thrilled to meet Jamie after his set this afternoon. Before that, Mr. Lidell rocked an eager crowd with his unique brand of '70s-inspired soul, his band adding a busty low end (complete with horns and bathrobes) to loops, beats and lots of keys.

Clad in wingtips, a tuxedo shirt, and what appeared to be pajama bottoms, Berlin's Jamie Lidell delivered a fine set of blue eyed neo-soul to a relaxed and amiable crowd at the Dell stage.

Here at Austinist, we were thrilled to be asked by ACL Fest organizers to pick a handful of sleeper picks from the Friday lineup. After all, you don't really need anyone to tell you to catch David Byrne or G. Love; you need someone to recommend a couple of names you might not know. And hey, if you already knew everyone playing on Friday, you're in the wrong line of work (give us a ring).
