Despite lackluster sales growth and a stock price that plummeted nearly 40% last year, Whole Foods Market was again rated highly among Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For. The annual rankings puts the organic food mecca in fifth place overall, and number two among large companies. Tech firm National Instruments was the only other Austin-based company making it onto Fortune's list, coming in at 86th place.

Whole Foods reopened their annual ice skating rink at the downtown flagship store today. The rink, located upstairs and offering a view of 6th and Lamar, is open nearly everyday through mid-January.

Following the huge outpouring of positive response from their winter wonderland experience of a year ago, Whole Foods is bringing back their ice rink this holiday season. We told you about the Rockefeller Center-esque set-up last year, and this year it will be more of the same. Ten dollars gets you on the ice for a 45-minute session between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. The rink will be open from November 22nd through January 5th. In addition to ice skating, the area will also feature holiday music and a variety of cold-weather concessions like coffee and hot chocolate.
