SXSW is now accepting volunteer applications for 2008, and this year, veterans will have to update their records on the site in order to file. The site offers a simple three step process for starting or updating your volunteer information.

SXSW 2007 Volunteer Call at the Hilton Hotel
In the midst of the usual band rumors, keynote speaker announcements, and day party secrecy comes the SXSW 2007 Volunteer Call at the Hilton. Vital components in the smooth functioning of the festival, ordinary lay-people have long done the tasks that make SXSW an annual success. And for those of us too broke to afford the platinum badge, and perhaps too clever in realizing how useless the wristband is, the Volunteer Badge is a sure-shot way to get into that one show you cannot miss. We've been watching a lot of episodes on the road lately, and it's making us home sick. (We're actually writing this recap at Chicago's Midway airport.) And here's the thing -- seeing those silly shots of the Frost Bank building, the montages of Congress Ave and...
2005 Web Awards Winners
The hipster digirati were rolling up in their white, stretch-suburbans (complete with WiFi and Instant Bloggerfication), decked out in their designer square-toed shoes and ironic glasses. That, or they were stumbling in from the pre-party from the dauntingly long, but surprisingly fast-moving beer lines across the street at Brush Square Park, laden with laptop bags and the heavy burden of a SxSW badge around their necks - a noosed reminder of a profession with a very questionable future.
This was the SxSW 2005 Web Awards, and Austinist was there to revel in all of its geekerific splendor, and to imbibe the tall servings of Miller Lite, the event sponsor, and what we are generously calling "beer." And the winners are...
