Senator Barack Obama will be making his second trip to Austin in less than five months, speaking at The Gregory Gym on UT Campus, Friday February 23. Everyone wants to get their hands on this presidential hopeful--University Democrats, African American Cultural Committee and Texans for Obama are all sponsoring the event, billed as one of the first stops on his recently announced campaign trail.

Due to its rather lackluster presence, that statue has now been repealed by the UT Barbara Jordan Statue Committe. Today, they're calling for help from all of Austin--not just students--in order to gain input before the next selection process, as opposed to afterwards. To date, 75 artists have applied and the committee hopes to narrow that number down to five by January.
