After launching his quest for the White House on Saturday, Rick Perry told MSNBC that he wants President Obama "to put a moratorium on regulation" claiming that it is costing the US much needed jobs.
Amazon Seeking Deal on State Sales Taxes [News]
The Statesman reported earlier this week that the Internet retail giant is negotiating with Texas officials for a package that would would exempt Amazon.com from collecting sales taxes on merchandise purchased by Texas consumers for 4 1/2 years. The package would also include a promise to bring more than 5,000 jobs and $300 million in capital investments to the state over the next three years.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced today that they are sticking with their ethanol requirements. This after our esteemed Gov. Perry requested that the EPA waive renewable fuel standards. Gov. Perry was supported in this request by Bo Pilgrim of Pilgrim's Pride, who, along with other meat producers, doesn't like the effect the current ethanol quotas have on the price of feed. But it looks like all the lobbying was for naught, as our nation's love affair with ethanol continues to grow. [NY Times]
