The Statesman reported earlier this week that the Internet retail giant is negotiating with Texas officials for a package that would would exempt Amazon.com from collecting sales taxes on merchandise purchased by Texas consumers for 4 1/2 years. The package would also include a promise to bring more than 5,000 jobs and $300 million in capital investments to the state over the next three years. more ›

The Environmental Protection Agency announced today that they are sticking with their ethanol requirements. This after our esteemed Gov. Perry requested that the EPA waive renewable fuel standards. Gov. Perry was supported in this request by Bo Pilgrim of Pilgrim's Pride, who, along with other meat producers, doesn't like the effect the current ethanol quotas have on the price of feed.
