Some people may shy away from Infamous, thinking there is no need to see two movies in one year about the complex character of Truman Capote. That would be a mistake. This film is getting favorable reviews, which is quite a feat considering it must compete in the shadow of a virtuoso performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman in the first biopic. When we got a press release in our inbox entitled, “Researcher Discovers How Lance Armstrong Keeps on Winning,” we were excited, assuming that it would contain an interesting secret, like: Lance Armstrong had his femurs surgically hollowed out, so they’re lightweight yet strong, like the bones of a bird. Sadly, though, it turns out that key to his six Tour victories are “a marked improvement in muscle efficiency and large reductions in body fat and body weight.” He has muscles and he’s not fat?
