It's been 20 years since the release of Richard Linklater's Slacker, and you may have heard about the AFS/Alamo Drafthouse project to recreate each scene from this meandering and beloved Austin-based film. You have your chance to participate in the making of this multi-director homage (which will premiere Aug. 31) this Sunday, when the final bit of the movie will be re-shot using a flash mob.

A Kiss to Build a Dream On: The Great Global Kiss-In
This Sunday at 3pm, the flash mob make out session known as the Great Global Kiss-In will take place at City Hall Plaza. At the sound of a whistle, the crowd begins kissing for one minute. A series of kiss-ins will be taking place in over 50 cities across the globe between May 14-17. The kiss-in is meant to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, which falls on May 17 the day homosexuality was removed from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization.
