Fans of the southern-spawned Elephant Six collective have learned that patience is a virtue. Years pass, promises are...deferred, but eventually the friends and co-conspirators behind a gaggle of psychedelic pop bands deliver, and how. The "Holiday Surprise Tour" is a reference to the Olivia Tremor Control song, but it's also safe to wonder aloud that maybe the collective intended to get the tour rolling during the actual winter holidays, (hence the snowman prop) but obligations got in the way. Dark Developments is what you get when you combine the experience and oddness of the singer-songwriter Athens mainstay Vic Chesnutt with the power-pop punch of the underrated Elephant Six rockers Elf Power.
