This morning we have some disappointing but not hopeless news for Dengue Fever fans. The group have had to postpone their tour, which means no show for FFFest Nites as planned. However, they promise to be back. Official statement from their Facebook: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will have to postpone our 3 upcoming dates in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Austin next week. But fear not, we will be making up those dates sometime in 2012. Apologies to all and thanks for the continued support."

Team Clermont & MBV Music Present the SXSW College Party
The avalanche of SXSW day party announcements continues, and here’s another one to add to your list: on Thursday the 15th, the Athens, Georgia-based PR and radio promotions powerhouse Team Clermont is teaming up with music blog aggregator MBV to present their now annual “SXSW College Party” at Flamingo Cantina. They’ve cooked up all kinds of reasons to induce you to attend, first and foremost being the lineup, which includes notables Califone, Dengue Fever, and the excellent Collections of Colonies of Bees. They’ll also be giving away scads of free vinyl from various indie labels, which will be handily delivered in a tote bag designed by animator and poster designer Lauren Gregg. Lineup and set times after the jump.
Fun Fun Fun Fest Artist Profiles: Clipse and Dengue Fever
Angry, insular, and propelled by a stripped down Neptunes beat, “Virginia” is the only song on Clipse’s 2002 debut that approached the ferocity and grit of their hit “Grindin’.” Like pretty much all of their songs, “Virginia” is about drugs and posturing on the surface, but between the lines (no pun intended), Clipse depict struggles of class, race, and lifestyle. “Virginia” never topped any charts, but has long been the foundation of Clipse’s live show. This might hold true for the group’s Sunday set, or it very well could not. Rarely is a rap show as potentially telling.
