Out at the refurbished Del Valle High School football stadium, a staged homecoming football game was filmed last Friday night and into the pre-dawn hours of Saturday. The “game” was the backdrop for the Austin-based NBC series Friday Night Lights. After we announced that NBC's new fall series Friday Night Lights would be shooting in Austin, a few of you wrote in asking us about whether they were still casting for the show. We got in on this rather late, as they're indeed looking for extras today. Students from Lanier, LBJ, Garza and Reagan High schools walked out of class this morning and set on their way to the Capitol in protest of the Immigration Bill (or rather, the anti-Immigration Bill) up before Congress. A large group of students from the Del Valle area are headed to downtown Austin in protest and the Statesman reports that at the rate the students are walking, they may make it to the Capitol sometime......
