Many groups have attempted to follow in the footsteps established by the legendary Queens crew, but only a handful have come close. The best group, by far, is North Carolina's Little Brother. Phonte, Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder create a sound that has roots in groups like De La Soul and Tribe, but also has a sense of exploration like the ATLiens of Outkast. Little Brother's 2003 release, "The Listening" is regarded as an underground classic, and had ?uestlove of the mighty Roots crowning himself "Pres-o-Dent of the Little Brother fan club." Little Brother will release "The Minstrel Show" on September, 13th. They will be at Emo's tonight supporting their upcoming release. The doors open at 8, and the show begins at 10. $12.50 gets you in at the door.
