The footage above was shot outside Daily Juice's parking lot after ACL 2008, where a spontaneous dance party riot broke out before cops shut it down. This year, they're throwing an official dance contest at the Barton Springs location on Saturday at 2 p.m., the winner of which earns a $100 gift card. Bonus points if you outlast one of the hula hoopers you'll see at the festival grounds—they're trained for this stuff.

*Post by Rebecca ReedWe found the best new way to enjoy Earth Day Eve in East Austin at the First Annual Down2Earth party. Big Red Sun provided The Nest, which quickly filled before sunset with the other-worldly sounds of Didge Man (www.didgeman.com) and happy revelers dressed in their yippie hippie finest. We make into the Juice whenever we are thirsting for some fruity or veggie goodness, and sometimes just to shoot the breeze with Co-Owner Matt Shook and his...
*Warning: Post may contain sarcasm.* Why do people always feel the need to label and categorize everything and everyone? She’s a hipster; that guy’s a douche bag; those kids are square. We assume, with our rudimentary understanding of psychology and sociology, that it has something to do with fear and insecurity. We’re not real sure, but sometimes it can be a lot of fun. And we hate it when people don’t live up to...
Austinites love their bikes. And we don’t just mean the Lanceophile, weekend warrior yuppie types who gear up in spandex to tie up automotive lanes, but just good ol’ bicycle riders. You know, people that know how to go to the grocery store and only buy as much food as they can pedal home. People who head down to the local pub for a few pints and then navigate the sidewalks home. People who...
