More than a few Indian-food lovers are going to be up on the new Tarka like cheese on macaroni. Or, better yet, like daal on rice. This will be the second location for Tarka Indian Kitchen. Clay Pit, the Indian food Valhalla on Guadalupe and 16th Street, has recently updated their menu, and all vegan items are now marked with a handy little "v" symbol, in addition to their substantial vegetarian offerings. While perhaps not the most authentic, their Indian dishes have nevertheless neatly filled a curry-shaped void in Austinites’ stomachs since 1998, and was called “one of the best Indian restaurants in the United States” by Bon Appetit magazine. more ›
