Food + Film: 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' Feast Thursday At Alamo Drafthouse

Steve Martin -- maker of jokes, player of banjo -- once quipped that writing about music was like dancing about architecture. But what would he say about writing about food cooked about film? We think he would totally get it. And we think he would totally want to get in on it, especially if it was an Alamo Drafthouse feast presented in honor of that old-timey Coen Brothers masterpiece O Brother Where Art Thou (2000). more ›

It's that time of the year again. Time to reflect back upon all the great shows that we attended, all the Lone Star we drank because we couldn't afford anything else, and all the ditches we fell asleep in. But now, as the holidays bear down upon our weary bodies like a drunken hook-up, its time to give something back. Luckily for us, there are two opportunities to do just that in the coming... more ›

To Do: Run 13.1 Miles

(image borrowed from 3M 2005 photo gallery) We like to think of ourselves as a healthy bunch. We've been anticipating The 3M Half Marathon (and relay) for a couple months now. Training diligently. Eating right. Sleeping right. Cutting back on the beer consumption. ( Well, maybe not as much as we should have...but we read somewhere that beer actually replaces certain phytochemicals lost while running-so we considered them as part of our training regimen.)... more ›
