San Francisco is proud host of a new reality show called "How to Get the Guy" that's unfortunately not a descendant of Will and Grace, Queer Eye, The L Word, American Idol etc. Also a biodefence lab is coming to the East Bay and SFist teaches wine pairing. Getting on the wrong train sucks. Getting on the wrong train and becoming the victim of what will later be described as a "stabbing spree" really sucks....
It's just been announced that President Clinton is coming back to Austin. He's scheduled to deliver the convocation address at UT's LBJ School of Public Affairs on May 20. We imagine you have been walking around downtown recently and seen a small parade of helmeted tourist-types bumping around on Segways. Like us, you probably thought, “Is there a nerd convention in town? Did someone win the lottery and buy their family members Segways? Is Austin the techno-trendiest town in America?” Well, the answer is far less mysterious. Gliding Revolution Tours now offers 3 ½ hour daily tours of some of the highlights of downtown Austin. For $55 a person, you will get a brief instruction course and then you and your lazy techno-curious friends are off to glide around town, checking out such sites as Town Lake, historic Sixth Street, the architectural gems of the Capitol and more. You can also set-up personalized tours; so if you have friends visiting and you really want to give them a good up-close glimpse of the SoCo area and Travis Heights, just shoot the folks over at Gliding Revolution an email and they’ll be happy to hammer out the details with you. Of course, you could also just take one of the free Dillos around town and then use your two feet to walk the areas of the city about which you are curious. But then you wouldn’t have people pointing and staring and you, speculating, “Wow, I bet they know Bill Gates or something!”
