The word ‘naïve’, stripped of its pejorative connotation, is a good description of Snakepit for other reasons. While the comic has gotten a smidge flashier over the past few years, it’s hasn’t developed in any manner that would suggest Ben is trying to improve. On the contrary, the sheer discipline of his daily drawing is only excelled by his ethic to not let his art evolve—to keep it crude/shitty/primitive, whatever....

When Austin's newest Chick-fil-A opens its doors this Thursday, it's planning on handing out $26,000 in free food to the first hundred adults eagerly salivating in line. An 18-wheeler struck a pedestrian at the intersection of East Ben White and the south I-35 northbound service road just over an hour ago. Understandably, traffic at that intersection is extremely congested. It is believed that an 18-wheeler was......

Statesman jack of all trades Michael Corcoran has probably been here longer than most of you, and many of us. The writer moved to Austin in 1984, and over the years has seen the city change drastically. Sure, we can all sit around and talk about how much better Austin used to be, as Corcoran admits in one of his latest blog posts, but being overly-nostalgic about the past and overly-critical about the present......
