One of our chief regrets this SXSW was missing out on the showcase performance by London's Goldfrapp, especially after seeing this amateur video recording posted on YouTube and reading the Chronicle's coverage (read: fuschia pink cape!)
Nevertheless, their latest record, Supernature, has been in steady rotation over at Austinist HQ since we found a copy of it sitting in our mailbox a few months ago. From the sensuous synth oscillations in opening single "Ooh La La" to the punchy, effervescent "Satin Chic," the album exudes a lusty, electro glam-rock decadence that we adore.
But we'll let you judge for yourself, because we're giving away two advance copies of Supernature! And yes, we realize that "advance" is somewhat irrelevant, as the album officially came out a few weeks ago (we've been backed up).
Simply send us an email at some point today, and we'll draw two random winners in the afternoon.

Weirder and Weirder
Looks like Austin won't be the only place keeping it weird anymore. Red Nova reports that smallish cities all across the country are getting all freaky in order to combat the onslaught of big business. Small business owners afraid of being driven out of town by chains like Walmart and Borders are trying to remind people of the value of their local shops.
HandShake Happy Hour
We're hearing rumors that the first party worth paying attention to (besides the VIP-only party tonight at Austinist HQ) for this year's SXSW is the HandShake Happy Hour tomorrow night at Lucky Lounge. 6-8, Milkshake Media and Handwire will be paying for you to get drunk with your friends. Don't forget your Bluetooth-enabled cellphone or PDA so you can beam your contact details and RSS feed to the cutie with the pocket protecter at the other end of the bar, cause that's right - this is a SXSW Interactive party!
